Each storage and measuring container is checked by the weighing system. The control system signals material quantities so the operator can decide whether to start the control program. When the mixer controller is connected to power, the human-machine interface appears and initialization begins, including the formula, concrete slump, concrete grade and productivity settings.

The belt conveyor starts, transferring aggregates to the measuring container. The fly-slag valve and concrete tank are opened, and the screw conveyor and motor start to transfer their contents to the measuring container.

The water collection and settling tank control valves are opened to allow water and admixtures to flow into the measuring container.

When each material reaches the specified weight, the measuring container inlet opens automatically.

The materials are then blended in the concrete mixer. Once the setting time has elapsed, the mixer door opens and the concrete flows into the truck mixer.

This procedure is carefully controlled to prevent concrete segregation. The concrete must be prepared, transported and used before its initial setting time, stated as 30–45 minutes. In some countries, this is achieved using a mobile concrete batching plant.
